20 Negara Sertai Festival Kesenian Rakyat Antarabangsa Sabah Julai Ini
KOTA KINABALU, 6 Jun (Bernama) -- Dua puluh kumpulan kebudayaan dari luar negara akan menyertai Festival Kesenian Rakyat Antarabangsa (SIFF) Sabah kali ke-7 dari 8 Julai hingga 17 Julai ini.
Pembantu Menteri Pelancongan, Kebudayaan dan Alam Sekitar Sabah Datuk Bolkiah Ismail berkata penganjuran SIFF pada tahun ini menyaksikan sedikit kelainan dengan perarakan kebudayaan tarian budaya diadakan bermula dari bangunan Lembaga Kebudayaan Kebudayaan Negeri Sabah hingga Dewan Masyarakat Kota Kinabalu.
"Kami berharap dapat mempromosi dan memperkenalkan Sabah sebagai destinasi dan produk pelancongan budaya yang unik melalui SIFF di samping alam semula jadi yang berkualiti," katanya selepas mengadakan kunjungan hormat ke atas Yang Dipertua Negeri Sabah Tun Juhar Mahiruddin di Istana Negeri, di sini Rabu.
Bolkiah berkata terdapat peningkatan penyertaan kumpulan dari luar negara pada tahun ini berbanding hanya 17 kumpulan tahun lepas.
Beliau berkata Juhar antara tetamu kehormat pada majlis Persembahan Perdana yang akan diadakan pada 13 Julai ini di sebuah hotel terkemuka di sini.
