Festival Akan Menjadi Antara 10 Pertunjukan Muzik Terkemuka Dunia
KUCHING, 12 Julai (Bernama) -- Lembaga Pelancongan Sarawak (STB) menumpu perhatian untuk jadikan Festival Muzik Dunia Hutan Hujan Tropika (RWMF) antara 10 festival muzik global terkemuka dalam masa lima tahun akan datang.
Ketua pegawai eksekutif STB, Datuk Rashid Khan berkata festival tersebut yang berjaya dianjurkan sejak lebih satu dekad yang lalu menjadi satu lagi produk pelancongan yang membawa impak positif terhadap kemajuan sosio ekonomi negeri ini.
"Kita mahu jadikan festival ini satu persembahan bertaraf lima bintang dunia yang dapat membawa manfaat mampan termasuk pertumbuhan ekonomi dan kemajuan sosial," katanya semasa memberi taklimat media mengenai acara tersebut di Santubong, kira-kira 35km dari sini hari ini.
Rashid Khan memberitahu demikian menjelang edisi ke-15 RWMF yang bermula di Perkampungan Budaya Sarawak itu esok.
Sebanyak 15 kumpulan dari beberapa benua akan mengadakan pelbagai persembahan muzik mereka di festival tiga hari itu yang diserikan dengan acara sampingan termasuk bengkel muzik dunia dan lawatan ke beberapa pusat tumpuan tarikan Borneo.
