Industri Filem Tempatan Digesa Beralih Ke Sistem Digital
KUALA LUMPUR, 25 Julai (Bernama) -- Timbalan Menteri Penerangan Komunikasi dan Kebudayaan Datuk Maglin Dennis D'Cruz menggesa industri perfileman tempatan serta pengurusan pawagam beralih ke medium digital yang mampu memberi kualiti gambar dan audio bermutu tinggi.
Beliau berkata pawagam digital juga boleh membendung kegiatan merakam rompak terutama filem buatan Malaysia.
"Menjelang 2015, Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) akan bertukar ke format digital sepenuhnya, dan selari dengan itu, kebanyakan pawagam di negara ini dijangka turut melakukan peralihan ke sistem digital.
"Kita menjangkakan menjelang hujung tahun hadapan, 150 skrin pawagam di seluruh negara akan menjalani peralihan ke format digital," katanya kepada pemberita selepas melancarkan 'Qube Digital Cinema System 2D and 3D' di Perbadanan Kemajuan Filem Nasional Malaysia di sini Selasa.
Sistem itu kini digunakan 4,500 pawagam di seluruh dunia, termasuk 30 di Malaysia.
D'Cruz berkata format digital dapat mengekang kegiatan cetak rompak kerana filem yang ditayangkan tidak boleh disalin atau dirakam sewenang-wenangnya.
