251 Films Vying For Honours At FFVPM9
SHAH ALAM, June 21 (Bernama) -- A total of 251 film works from 23 public universities and 21 private ones are vying for honours at the three-day 9th Malaysian Students Film and Videos Festival (FFVPM9) which got underway at Universiti Teknologi Mara's main campus here Thursday.
Seven categories are being competed namely Short Films/Videos, Documentary Films/Videos, Experimental Films/Videos, Animation Films/Videos, Television Advertising Films/Videos, Public Service Films/Videos and Music Video Clips.
The festival is organised by UiTM and the National Film Development Corporation (Finas).
Finas chairman Datuk Md Afendi Hamdan when opening the festival said the Malaysian film industry needed the involvement of young people who were aggressive and dynamic to spur it to greater heights.
