RTM Sabah To Organise Bintang Kecil, Remaja, P. Ramlee Contests To Identify Young Singers
KOTA KINABALU, Sept 18 (Bernama) -- The Sabah Broadcasting Department (RTM) will be organising a three-day Sabah zone Bintang Kecil, Bintang Remaja and Bintang P. Ramlee competition at Pantaran Mesra RTM Kota Kinabalu, Jalan Tuaran, starting Sept 21.
Sabah Broadcasting Director Abdul Jalani Mahmud said 32 participants comprising 10 each in Bintang Kecil, Bintang Remaja and 12 in Bintang P. Ramlee would be vying for titles.
He said the event that starts at 8pm would be broadcast live on Radio Malaysia Sabah fm.
"The yearly RTM programme is aimed at unearthing young talent. The winner and runner-up in the Bintang Kecil and the winner of the Bintang P. Ramlee categories will represent Sabah at the national-level competition from Nov 17 to Dec 1, in Sarawak," he told reporters at Kompleks Bersepadu Kementerian Penerangan, Komunikasi dan Kebudayaan in Kepayan near here today.
Winners in each category also receive RM2,000, while the runner up and third place winners receive RM1,500 and RM1,000 respectively.
