National Veteran Artistes Sweep Gemilang Seri Temasek Awards
SINGAPORE, Feb 2 (Bernama) -- Four Malaysian veteran artistes dominated the Gemilang Seri Temasek awards at the Seri Temasek II Gala Night here Saturday night.
The four artistes were veteran actresses Latifah Omar, Mariani Ismail and Datuk Sharifah Aini as well as music maestro Datuk Dr Ahmad Nawab.
The awards were presented by the Malaysian National Film Development Corporation (Finas) chairman Datuk Md Afendi Hamdan.
Renowned actor, the late Nordin Ahmad was bestowed the Seri Temasek Legend In Memory award while Malaysian pop veteran Jamal Abdillah was honoured with the Seri Temasek Achievement award.
Information, Communications and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim in his message in the souvenir book said it was hoped that the Seri Temasek awards would pave the way for more cooperation, especially in the filming and creative art industry, in the region.
